Committee takes no action against Speaker Madigan

State Representative-elect Amy Elik released the following statement after the Democrats ended the House Special Investigative Committee.

"Voters in the 111th District rejected Mike Madigan and demanded ethics be restored in Springfield this past November.

Monday's hearing was another reminder that there is still work to be done to hold Mike Madigan accountable. The ComEd bribery scandal that was laid out by federal investigators requires more than just “answers” from Mike Madigan, it demands his full resignation and departure from our state government.

I look forward to working with my colleagues who are serious about ending the purge of corruption in Springfield and finally restoring transparency and trust at the Capitol."
